A mini-workshop, or Open Studio, “In a Nutshell” was held in conjunction with the American Society of Botanical Artists exhibit “Out of the Woods” on display in early 2019 at the Tucson Botanical Garden.
Marceline VandeWater, SWSBA Vice President, provided a collection of tree pods and fruits as subjects for the workshop. Participants were then free to pick the samples that inspired them and create an original work. The choice of media was open, but not surprisingly everyone choose watercolor.
It was a small group, but not surprising for a Thursday. Marceline VandeWater took the photos.
